The Okes Release New Music Video “Walked On”
The Okes have officially released the music video for their latest single, Walked On, marking another milestone for the North Shore indie rock band and the growing creative community surrounding them.
The music video premiered during the band’s live performance at Habitat Pub (BCIT Burnaby) on May 15, 2026 giving fans an exclusive first look at the project during a packed hometown-style show.
The project is a fully independent collaboration built from the ground up by a small team of musicians, filmmakers, and friends connected through Vancouver’s local music and film scenes. No label, no massive budget, no big production company — just a group of people passionate about creating something authentic together.
The music video was created alongside filmmaker Graham Harrington and North to South Films after the band connected with Harrington through a Vancouver musicians networking page. Originally from Mexico, Harrington shared the same DIY mentality as the band, making the partnership a natural fit from the beginning.
The result is a visual companion to Walked On that captures the raw energy and emotion behind the track while reflecting the independent spirit that defines The Okes.
The song itself was equally grassroots in its creation.
Written by frontman Tom and co-produced collaboratively by the band, Walked On was recorded across a collection of makeshift studio spaces throughout Vancouver — including basements, garages, and warehouse environments. Longtime collaborator Erik Suplicz, originally from Hungary, played a major role in recording, mixing, mastering, and production. Suplicz first connected with a member of the band while living in London before eventually reuniting in Vancouver and helping shape several Okes releases.
Since Suplicz moved back to Hungary, members of The Okes have increasingly taken the technical side of recording and production into their own hands, continuing to evolve as fully independent artists.
That spirit of self-sufficiency sits at the heart of this release.
Every part of the project — from songwriting and production to filming and editing — came together through collaboration, creativity, and a shared focus on simply making art with good people.
Walked On is available now on streaming platforms, with the official music video live on YouTube.
The Okes is grateful to everyone who supported the release, shared the music, and helped make this project happen.
